- You must accept who you are now. (12)
- You must put sin to death or you will be put to death.
- If you continue to do what the flesh wants you to do, you will go to hell. (13a)
- If you are constantly killing sin, you will go to heaven. (13b)
- You kill sin primarily by obeying God. (14)
- You must embrace your new family and your new war.
- You are an adopted child, not a piece of divine property. (15)
- You should experience some level of internal confidence that you really are in God’s family. (16-17a)
- You should expect to suffer in this life as a part of God’s family. (17b)
- You should expect to rejoice with exceedingly great joy at the great Family Reunion. (17c)
