The Lord’s Supper, Part Two

1. Make sure that you are doing the supper correctly.

     i. Do not come to the Table…
          a. With an idol in your heart (1 Cor 10:21).
          b. Disunited with another member (1 Cor 11:17-18).
          c. For merely a “me and Jesus” moment (1 Cor 11:20-21, 29, 33-34).
          d. With an unexamined life (1 Cor 11:28).

     ii. Am I actively seeking to get to know my fellow members?

     iii. Am I biblically dealing with another member when sin threatens our unity?
          a. When I have sinned against them (Matt 5:23-24).
          b. When they have sinned against me (Matt 18:15).

2. Eat the Supper as a corporate meal, not a private dinner (1 Cor 10:16-17, 1 Cor 11:17-20, 33).

3. Consider together the past, present and future of our Saviour (1 Cor 11:23-26, Ps 106:4, Lam 5:1, Is 25:6-9, 1 Pet 1:8-9, Jn 15:5, Phil 4:13).
