Lead Us Not Into Temptation

1. The tempter is limited, but wicked (1a)

     a. God made the serpent

     b. The serpent God made was crafty

     c. The serpent was a real animal

     d. The serpent was an instrument of Satan

2. The tempter’s tactics are deceptive (1b-7)

     a. He will question God’s revealed truth (1b-3)

     b. He will deny God’s revealed truth (4-7)

          i. He denies what God promises

          ii. He impugns God’s motives

          iii. He promises life apart from God

          iv. He promises an inside track to happiness
