Working for the Glory of God

September 4, 2011 Speaker: Paul Martin Series: Topical Sermons

Working for the Glory of God

(A sermon for Labour Day, 2011)

1. Labour is good (Genesis 1 and 2)

2. Labour is always resisted because of sin (Genesis 3; Romans 8)

3. Labour is often complicated because of sins

Example #1: If we love comfort more than God

Example #2: If we fear people more than God

4. Christians have their labours redeemed!

         a. You should labour (2 Thessalonians 3:10-12; 1 Timothy 5:8)

         b. You should expect resistance and complications in your labour (Philippians 4:10-13)

         c. You must labour first for God (Colossians 3:22-24; 3:17; 1 Corinthians 10:31)
