Working for the Glory of God
(A sermon for Labour Day, 2011)
1. Labour is good (Genesis 1 and 2)
2. Labour is always resisted because of sin (Genesis 3; Romans 8)
3. Labour is often complicated because of sins
Example #1: If we love comfort more than God
Example #2: If we fear people more than God
4. Christians have their labours redeemed!
a. You should labour (2 Thessalonians 3:10-12; 1 Timothy 5:8)
b. You should expect resistance and complications in your labour (Philippians 4:10-13)
c. You must labour first for God (Colossians 3:22-24; 3:17; 1 Corinthians 10:31)
