Why Did God Become Man?

I. HE BECAME LIKE ONE OF US [14, 17]

II. TO SAVE SOME OF US

This saving work is described from three vantage points:

--- A. He destroyed the Destroyer (14)
--- B. He Delivered the Undeliverable (15)
--- --- John Owen: “All the power of Satan in the world over any of the sons of men is founded in sin and guilt of death attending it.”
--- C. He Paid the Price (17)

III. TO HELP ALL HE SAVES (16, 18)

John Owen: “The great duty of the tempted soul is to cry unto the Lord Christ for help and relief!"
