#4 – “Authority”

I. What is Authority?

--- a. Creator [Psalm 90:2 ]

--- b. Finisher [2 Peter 3:4-13]

--- c. Sovereign [Colossians 1:16-17]

II. Why is Authority a core value?

--- a. “If you do not value authority, by default, you value, cherish, esteem rebellion: disobedience and unbelief.” [Deuteronomy 9:22ff; Hebrews 3:7ff; 1 Samuel 15:22]

--- b. “At the core, rejection of authority is a rejection of God.”

III. How Do You Value Authority?

--- a. We Embrace authority of God Himself [Psalm 2]

--- b. We listen to and obey the people and laws in positions of authority in our society. [Romans 13:1-7; 1 Peter 2: 13-19]
